Five things for April

Go-To Facial Swipeys | These are great if, like me, you’re not heavily in to rubbing harsh and gritty cream exfoliants into your face – just swipe a lactic acid and AHA-soaked cotton pad over your face for fabulously smooth and bright skin.

All These Perfect Strangers | A small-town girl, a chequered past, a new life at university, and murder most foul. The debut novel from Aoife Clifford is told through flash-backs as the present-day protagonist, Pen Sheppard, reveals piece by piece the events of her past.

A classic trench coat | My wardrobe was lacking a classic neutral-coloured coat, and when this baby went on sale at Marcs it was a no-brainer. It’s a classic and a staple, and a perfect accompaniment to Autumn when paired with jeans, flats, a nice top, and a printed scarf.

Mecca Coffee Beans | A Mecca retail space and warehouse recently opened up in Alexandria, so freshly roasted beans are suddenly at my doorstep. I’m currently road-testing the Espresso Blend, recommended for milk coffees, so perfect for my morning flat white.

Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin | Pleasingly heavy on the spicy notes thanks to the likes of cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, coriander seeds, lavender, angelica root, and native pepperberry, this gin is lovely neat with ice, or topped with Tonic Water (hold the lime).

    • Holy moses, the Swipeys are legit the best. I used to use Alpha-H Liquid Gold religiously, but since switching to Go-To I haven’t looked back!
